Awareness is Nothing, because it is Everything.
The other day, I swam until the lake disappeared. It had not gone.Rather, it was everywhere.Everything.No longer something before me, or cold against the skin, or deep weight beneath my body, or a kaleidoscope of light breaking around each arc of stroke. In a way, the lake held everything; it had become nothing I could point to.It had no place. Was it really something other than me?How strange.Perhaps awareness is like this.Never one of the things that appears.Nothing in itself. And yet, it is everything appearing.Everywhere.I realised, like the lake that morning, awareness has no face because every face is its own.
