The collateral beauty of the mundane.

Standing before the Suffolk sea this morning, my attention waited. It wasn’t for the sunrise. And it wasn’t for a revelation. But simply long enough for the horizon to stop being something over there. The sea held the sky.Attention held the infinity of what I see.Mirror like, reflecting the inner infinity of me.Eventually, I could not find where the world ended and the looking began. We call these moments ordinary.Perhaps only because we have forgotten how endless they are.Perhaps the mundane is what infinity looks like when we stop asking it to be extraordinary.
