Worlds are lost when thought becomes ordinary.
Perhaps? …
Have you ever noticed how a thought disappears by becoming ordinary?
How, once invisible, it no longer asks to be believed.
It simply becomes the way things are.
And with it disappears an infinity.
I do not mean the infinity of distant stars or the dark depth of ocean, but the infinity of other ways this moment might have been lived.
Other ways it might have been met.
Other ways it might have been held.
Perhaps, freedom does not arrive when we discover a better thought.
Perhaps, freedom arrives the moment attention notices that thought had quietly become the world.
And in that noticing, the horizon opens once more.
