Tasting 'self' in a sip, that of my own being.
Finally, the weight of a recent virus lifted enough for me to reach the lake today.
The green lane opened ahead, then quietly poured me onto the shoreline.
Water; fell; sky.
After days of being gathered tightly around my small circumference, it felt more like a small rebirth, reborn back into Nature.
I stood for a while, looking.
Perhaps looking is not quite the word.Remembering may be better.
Nature seemed to gather herself everywhere … in water, stone, light, the movement of the trees … and something in me recognised the same gesture.
What shapes Nature shapes my mind, too.
Why would it not?
How we forget that and suffer!
For the briefest moment, I tasted something strangely familiar.
Searching nature, I tasted ‘self’ in a sip, that of my own being.
